About

The program aims to produce and nurture responsible, synergy, and skillful professional land surveyors assistant in supporting national and global agenda to provide services and survey management, mapping, and geospatial technology as well as to uphold the university’s vision of becoming a globally renowned university with outstanding academics and impactful research.The duration of the program is three(3) years. The curriculum structure is well-designed to meet all aspects of the basic theory as well as the latest technologies requirements related to the field of surveying and geomatics. Qualified and experienced teaching staff with conducive facilities make this academic program more quality and remain relevant.

Accreditation

This program is recognized by the Public Services Department and professional bodies such as the  Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM), Land Surveyors Board Peninsula Malaysia, and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Career Opportunities 

This programme equips graduates with expertise in land surveying and mapping. Graduates enjoy a range of career options in both the public and private sectors, including roles such as assistant land surveyor, assistant land administrator, assistant site manager or engineer, and surveying technician. The application of geospatial and remote sensing knowledge also opens up opportunities in the geospatial industry, including roles such as assistant geospatial engineer, assistant GIS analyst, and assistant image analyst. Careers in related fields such as tourism, environmental management, real estate surveying and development, building and construction, land management, and software development (including sales and marketing) are also available. Potential employers include the Department of Mapping and Surveying Malaysia (JUPEM), the Ministry of Defence, Licensed Land Surveying Companies, other surveying-related firms, construction companies, Local Councils, the Development and Real Estate Division of the State Economic and Planning Unit and Higher Education Institutions. Graduates may also choose to further their education at the bachelor’s degree level.

Entry Requirements

1. SPM LEAVERS

Meet the GENERAL UNIVERSITY REQUIREMENTS by obtaining THREE (3) CREDITS in the following subjects:

Mathematics English Language Physics / Chemistry / Biology / Additional Science / Science AND

PASS Additional Mathematics AND

PASS ONE (1) in any other subject AND

Candidates DO NOT have disabilities that hinder practical work (Not blind / Not colour blind/deaf with hearing and speech aids (resonance disorders) will be considered).

 
2. UiTM PRE-DIPLOMA LEAVERS

Pass the Upgrade (LNT) program for Pre-Diploma Science (PD007 / PD008) / Pre-Diploma Science (STEM C and Literature Stream) (AS002 / AS003) from UiTM with at least a CGPA of 2.50 AND

Candidates DO NOT have disabilities that hinder practical work (Not blind / Not colour blind/deaf with hearing and speech aids (resonance disorders) will be considered).

3. MALAYSIAN SKILLS CERTIFICATE (SKM) / RECOGNISED HIGHER INSTITUTION LEAVERS

Pass the Malaysian Skills Certificate (SKM) Level 3 / other recognized qualifications by the Malaysian government and the Land Surveyors Board (LJT). AND

Pass SPM / Equivalent with Three (3) credits including: 

♣ Credit in Malay Language

♣ Credit in Mathematics 

♣ Credit in any other subject AND 

Pass English AND 

Candidates who do not have disabilities that make practical work difficult (Not blind / Not color blind / deaf with hearing aid and speech aids (resonance disorders) will be considered.

4. Accreditation Of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL)

• Pass the APEL Assessment (Aptitude Test & Portfolio) by MQA.
• Not less than 20 years old in the year of application.
• Have at least five (5) years of work experience in a related field.
• Pass the faculty-level interview
